Cascadia College Redmond in the Together Center

Honoring Michiko McAndrew:
The Cascadia College Foundation has launched a project to honor the life of Michiko McAndrew. Michiko was a first generation immigrant who came to America and built an incredible life. She learned English, was an incredibly hard worker, and loved nature and the Pacific Northwest. She made sacrifices so that her children could live the American dream, which they did.

The Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to honor Michiko's legacy through a new classroom in Redmond providing resources and education to other people in our community who are just like her.

With your support, we can create accessible English as a second language (ESL), computer literacy, high school completion, Running Start and other college level classes.

About Cascadia College Redmond:
Cascadia College has opened its first ever satellite facility in Redmond’s Together Center, located at 16305 NE 87th Street, with the goal of offering accessible education.

The Together Center, a regional facility and one of the first multi-tenant nonprofit centers in the nation, serves tens of thousands of people from throughout East King County. The inclusive campus is designed to elevate health equity, promote personal agency, improve housing stability, and deliver essential whole-person support across our community.

At Cascadia, we believe it is crucial that educational opportunities be conveniently located to our residents, especially those who find transportation and access difficult. Additionally, with the support of the other Together Center non-profit organizations, we are opening the doors to help East King County residents get the education needed to find employment and successfully live in Redmond and surrounding communities.

Why We Need Your Support:
In order to offer the best education possible, Cascadia needs your support to offer the best infrastructure, technology, and educational experience possible for our students.

Special thanks to Amazon for supporting Cascadia College Redmond with a $110,000 contribution.

The Together Center Story:
In 1991, Friends of Youth, HealthPoint, Hopelink and Youth Eastside Services came together with an innovative idea: bring a group of nonprofits into the same space to combine and share resources, multiplying impact for the community. They purchased a former strip mall and Together Center (TC), the first nonprofit human services center in the nation, was launched.

Today TC is a unique and thriving model that benefits both clients seeking services and the dedicated nonprofits who serve them. The 20 nonprofit providers located at TC's site in downtown Redmond serve over 30,000 neighbors in need each year, with clients coming from all over the Greater Eastside and beyond.

In March 2021, TC broke ground on a national, first-of-its-kind human services model. The new campus will feature a full suite of wrap-around social services, paired with affordable housing, together in one safe, transit-oriented location.

In Addition to the Cascadia College Redmond Classroom, the Expanded Together Center will Feature:
-5 floors of affordable housing (200 units of workforce housing and 80 units of low income housing)
-Space for 20 nonprofit providers
-Community art gallery
-Nonprofit conference and event center
